Ashleigh Schoonderbeek (dance instructor)

Miss Ashleigh grew up, went to school and fell in love with dance in Olds. Starting at the young age of four she danced all through her schooling years at Divine Dance Academy in Olds and Joy’s School of Dance in Innisfail, training in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, and lyrical. At the age of fourteen Ashleigh began student teaching and eventually was given her own classes and competition groups, in which she and her students won multiple choreography and most promising awards.

Upon graduation Ashleigh moved to Calgary and continued to dance while working towards her Political Science degree at the University of Calgary. While at university she joined the UofC Dinos Cheer team, which included basketball and football dance performances, as well as basic stunting drills. Ashleigh continued to teach at and work reception at a number of dance studios throughout the city. She also began working competitions as both a backstage manager, announcer, and adjudicators writer. Ashleigh is a certified Acrobatic Arts Level One instructor.
